Carnival Cruise 2026
We went on our second cruise together! We went to Key West, Florida, Celebration Key, Bahamas, and Nassau, Bahamas and they all exceeded my expectations. We also had the privilege to go with two other couples! This vacation has been booked for a year and a half so we were beyond ready!
Key West, Florida
Key west was my favorite port day, and exceeded my expectations the most. I think because it was America I just assumed it wouldn't be the coolest, but it was awesome.
First thing we did right off the boat was go parasailing! This was the excursion that I pushed for and I'm so glad I did. We all loved it. I will say it was scarier and higher than I was expecting! But once we were up at the top and just coasting, it was so relaxing and beautiful. We could see all the little islands around and take in all the views. It also lasted longer than I expected and it was just such a cool experience. As soon as we were done I did start to get really motion sick on the boat and was trying my hardest not to throw up. I was successful, but I need to find some motion sickness meds that work before I do something like that again haha.
We went to the Southernmost point in America which I didn't know was a thing until we got there. Next we walked around until we saw a sign for "World Famous Lobster Pizza" and we ate right on the water. It was such a cute spot with gorgeous views of the water as we ate.
Next we walked around at all the shops. I don't love shopping but the strip was so cool, I was interested in all of the stores! We of course had to try key lime pie here, because it was made in key west, so we made sure to do that (was not life changing but I love any excuse for key lime pie).
Celebration Key, Bahamas
Before we got to Celebration Key, I knew it was Carnival's private island, so I had very low expectations. The private island on our last cruise was more crowded and people were mainly walking. But this trip, there was so much space, giant resort pools, adult only sections was infinity pools, a basketball court (for the boys), swings at the bars, and a beautiful beach (as expected). The staff was also so nice, driving people around in golf carts for free and were so happy to do so.
Nassau, Bahamas
I was really glad to have this final stop, because Nassau is the capital of the Bahamas and I had no idea what it was like! It felt very third world like which reminded me on St Lucia, but the roads were way nicer and the people were amazing. In other countries the locals keep to themselves more, but in Nassau people were going out of their way to help us find parking, talk to us and joke with us, and all the workers at the little souvenir shops were so wholesome. I felt like the locals wanted us to be there. They were so kind. We also had to go to the Atlantic Casino in Nassau, because apparently it's a big deal. I mainly have positive thoughts about going because we made $200 (15 of those dollars were from me at the roulette wheel btw). This was also the day we rented a scooter to ride around which was a lot of fun. There's nothing like zooming around a new city exploring. This was a great way to finish off our port days.
We did a lot of different things on the ship for our days at sea, so let me just give a few highlights.
- We spent every night out on the top deck watching the sunset and the ocean
- The silent dance party is my favorite ship activity
- I remembered my love for waterslides
- Clayton and I (mostly me) got heckled by a comedian
- Jeremiah attempted to buy a $750 painting at an art auction (it took him all week to get out of it)
- Countless titanic poses were done
- We failed Harry Potter trivia
